چکیده

Eye tracking and measurement of eye movement’s parameters is for the research and diagnosis of affection eye muscle, mental defect and neural illnesses very important. Nowadays there are many ways of assessing eye movements [1]. There are sclera search coils measurements, electrooculography, infra-red oculography, and the most modern videooculography. Videooculography (VOG) uses a camera to track the eye movements. If the camera is mounted on patient’s head, the relative eye position to head is measured, and then must be head position tracked, too. But if camera is mounted independently, the eye must be hold in camera’s view and differentiate the eye from the head movements. With the development of video and image analysis technology, various methods of automatic extracting the eye position from images of the eye have been developed. [4] The developed device works on the principle of videooculography, the patient is visually stimulated by LCD display and his eye movements are tracked with CMOS camera. On the computer is running software which analyses in real time the video coming from the VOGBOX. The developed application displays a graph after measuring the eye movements, which shows direction depending on time, time delay and the other parameters of eye movements according to the stimulation.

High-speed video-oculography applied to assess pupil light reflex

Eye response to light exposure is usually described through the pupillary light reflex, which controls the pupil diameter and allows for testing the sensory and motor functions of the eye. We have arranged an experimental setup and developed a procedure in order to improve the video-oculography experiment through high-speed imaging. The technique has been applied over eleven people distinguishi...

Geometry Issues of Gaze Estimation

Video-oculography (VOG) is a non-intrusive method used to estimate gaze. The method is based on a remote camera(s) that provides images of the eyes that are processed by a computer to estimate the point at which the subject is gazing in the area of interest. Normally, infrared (IR) light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are used in the system, as this light is not visible to humans. The objective of the ...

Photosensor Oculography: Survey and Parametric Analysis of Designs using Model-Based Simulation

This paper presents a renewed overview of photosensor oculography (PSOG), an eye-tracking technique based on the principle of using simple photosensors to measure the amount of reflected (usually infrared) light when the eye rotates. Photosensor oculography can provide measurements with high precision, low latency and reduced power consumption, and thus it appears as an attractive option for pe...

Construction and Operation of a High-Speed, High-Precision Eye Tracker for Tight Stimulus Synchronization and Real-Time Gaze Monitoring in Human and Animal Subjects

Measurements of the fast and precise movements of the eye-critical to many vision, oculomotor, and animal behavior studies-can be made non-invasively by video oculography. The protocol here describes the construction and operation of a research-grade video oculography system with ~0.1° precision over the full typical viewing range at over 450 Hz with tight synchronization with stimulus onset. T...

Objective Evaluation of Vergence Disorders and a Research-Based Novel Method for Vergence Rehabilitation

PURPOSE We performed video-oculography to evaluate vergence eye movement abnormalities in students diagnosed clinically with vergence disorders. We tested the efficiency of a novel rehabilitation method and evaluated its benefits with video-oculography cross-correlated with clinical tests and symptomatology. METHODS A total of 19 students (20-27 years old) underwent ophthalmologic, orthoptic ...
